Instaurare omnia in Christo
To restore all things in Christ
The parish…continues to be ‘the Church living in the midst of the homes of her sons and daughters’…The parish is the presence of Christ in a given territory, an environment for hearing God’ word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, proclamation, charitable outreach, worship and celebration. In all its activities the parish encourages and trains its members to be evangelizers. It is a community of communities, a sanctuary where the thirsty come to drink in the midst of their journey, and a centre of constant missionary outreach. (Pope Francis, Apostolic Exhortation The Joy of the Gospel, n. 28)
Dear Friends,
These words of Pope Francis are our goal and our inspiration. We are well aware of our limitations and our poverty, but we are also boldly confident in the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, under the impulse and inspiration of that Spirit and in obedience to our legitimate shepherds, we will strive to become:
-The Presence of Christ in our neighborhood, especially in the Eucharistic Presence in the Tabernacle and in the Sacraments, a sanctuary where the thirsty come to drink in the midst of their busy lives.
-An environment for proclaiming and hearing the word of God and growing in the Christian life.
-The Catholic Church living in northern Aurora, a community of communities, worshiping and celebrating the true God, the Most Holy Trinity, in communion with the universal Church, the saints in heaven and the souls in purgatory.
-A center of constant missionary outreach, charitable assistance and evangelization.
Whatever your background or journey of faith we invite you to join us in this endeavour. The infinite Mercy of our Lord, and not our spiritual strength, personal abilities or moral goodness, is our only credential. And Mary our Mother our advocate and intercessor before the merciful Throne of God.
