Instaurare omnia in Christo
To restore all things in Christ
ARE YOU ENGAGED?
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The Sacrament of Matrimony
Just as Jesus encountered His people with a covenant of love and fidelity, so our Savior; the Spouse of the Church, now encounters Christian spouses through the sacrament of Marriage. He abides in them in order that by their mutual self-giving, spouses will love each other with enduring fidelity, as He loved the Church and delivered Himself for her.
Here is what you need to do:
• Call the parish office 8-12 months before the wedding to schedule an appointment for an initial meeting with a priest.
• In the initial meeting, you will learn about the marriage preparation process that applies to you, according to your actual situation.
• FOCUS inventory. This inventory is designed to help you target the topics you need and want to talk about as a couple. A facilitator of the Focus inventory will guide trough this process.
• After taking the FOCUS inventory and reviewing the results, you will be able to schedule your wedding date.
• Marriage Preparation Program. You’ll receive help identifying a preparation program that best fits your needs.
• Natural Family Planning (NFP). This three class course (one per month) gives couples a natural approach to understanding the cycles of fertility and infertility. Information about the dates will be given to you by your pastor or a staff member.
Fees to consider (covers cost of all interviews, all preparation classes, the FOCUS Inventory and Results and covers the cost of the having your wedding at the Church):
